The Arroyos & Foothills: Significant Ecological Area Nomination

Los Angeles County is revising its Los Angeles County General Plan, a comprehensive statement of public policy guiding long-term development and resource protection. As Altadena is unincorporated, this general plan, when adopted will establish goals, principles, standards, and plan proposals to establish a framework for future development and use of Altadena land. As a part of the General Plan revisions, Los Angeles County is also revising its list of Significant Ecological Areas (SEAs). As one of its first activities, the Conservancy proposed that the Altadena foothills be listed as an SEA. Included here are links to the original Conservancy nomination document along with the link to the County map in the draft General Plan.
